The 5v adapter is a small, efficient and affordable way to put +5v in your case. it supplies up to 1.5a of +5v with 95% efficiency and plugs into doepfer style bus boards to supply +5v to the corresponding supply line. it does not generate any noticeable amount of heat. no need for a bulky heat-sink. you may distribute it to other bus boards via the quick connect pins found on most doepfer style bus boards. since there are up to 1.5 amps available with a maximum current draw of 650ma at +12v, it should not be a problem to bus throughout a small system. please check the available current in your system before busing throughout it.
