In This is Viking, we find Bengta giving his first and most straight-forward take on electronic pop. Yet, with Bengta nothing is straightforward. Samples of dead palm trees, weather-beaten marimbas and swamped pianos all blend in with numerous synths and processed vocals. Juicy, sunny marimbas naturally melt over dystopic trance while calypso-inspired singing reveals Bengta ́s admiration of classic crooners such as Harry Belafonte, Edmundo Ros and Young Tiger.
